RETAINERS, DEPOSITS, AND PAYMENTS

A deposit is made to secure your order and event date and is always non-refundable. Being a small shop, Bea Delightful is only able to take a very limited number of custom orders for any given week.  We must often decline other orders to secure your place- in doing so we ensure that every order we take gets the proper amount of attention devoted to it. 

Therefore, the date of the event is considered “booked” upon receipt of a non-refundable retainer/deposit equal to 50% of the total value of the cake or products being ordered, including any delivery charges, any equipment deposit.

  • Payments of the balance due are to be made as follows:
  • 30 days (1 month) before the event: 50% of the total cost
  • 14 days (2 weeks) before the event: 100% of the total cost

If orders are booked less than 30 days (one month) before your event, the retainer will be equal to 100% the cost of the order plus delivery charges and any equipment deposit.  Should the client fail to make payments due as specified above, Bea Delightful will cease work without breach of contract, the order will be considered canceled, and no refund will be given.  Payment can be made by cash, Cash App, or Credit Card Invoice (online).  Upon final payment, a receipt will be issued, and all element size/style/requirements shall be finalized. The client is responsible for keeping track of any payments due and ensuring their timely payment.

 CANCELLATION POLICY:

Often, hand-made decorative elements of your order will need to be made in advance to give enough time for drying. Therefore, at least 3 full days or 72 hours notice is needed to cancel any custom order. All store credits from cancellations are handled as follows:

If cancellation is requested 1 month or more before order date, 75% of your total payment will be returned to you as store credit only (minus the cost of all supplies already purchased, expenses incurred, and the deposit).

 If cancellation is requested within 2 weeks or 14 full days notice, 50% of your total payment will be returned to you as store credit only (minus the cost of all supplies already purchased, expenses incurred, and the deposit). This credit can be used towards future custom orders only valid for one year starting from the date of cancellation. (No cash refunds).

If cancellation is requested within 3 full days or 72 hours notice, 25% of your total payment will be returned to you as store credit only  (minus the cost of all supplies already purchased, expenses incurred, and the deposit). This credit can be used towards future custom orders only valid for one year starting from the date of cancellation. (No cash refunds).

If cancellation is not requested within 3 full days or 72 hours’ notice, no partial credit will be received. Sorry, we cannot make exceptions for any reason.

If your order has already been completed, you will be asked to pick up and pay the remaining balance due (if there is one).

*Customers receiving store credit have their credit stored for one year on file at Bea Delightful* starting from the date of cancellation.  After one year the store credits expire.  (No cash refunds).

 CHANGE OF EVENT DATE:

We cannot guarantee that we will be able to move your order to the new requested date. For postponement requests made within less than 72 hours notice, you forfeit any money paid or any store credit.  At the time of postponement, you may be charged an additional fee (depending on the size of the order) to move the date because production has already been underway. To maintain the integrity of our products, we do not simply freeze our products; they are baked fresh daily for every order.  Once you give a new date, it cannot be changed again, or you forfeit any money or store credit.   As long as 72hours notice is given, we will always make our best effort to accommodate the request. (No cash refunds).

If a change of pickup or delivery date is not requested within 72 hours, no credit will be given in the event we cannot accommodate the date change. Sorry, no exceptions.

CHANGES TO YOUR ORDER:

The final cake and or product designs are due at least one month before your event. There shall be no changes to the design of the order within three weeks of the event date. Any changes after full payments are made may be subjected to a difference in price and possible fees which must be paid before the event by cash or cash app. All changes are subject to availability.

FOOD ALLERGIES AND FLOWERS:

We do place fresh flowers on our products, and we take the best of care to make sure it is free of any debris before it is placed on any of our products.  However, we are making you aware that fresh flowers are not a product of food, and may contain particles of plant/gardening remnants, or other contaminants.

  • All of Bea Delightful products, fillings, and frostings may contain or come into contact with soy, wheat, dairy or nuts. You acknowledge that you are responsible for informing your guests of this allergy information.

DELIVERY:

Delivery and set up is $25.00 within a 15-mile radius of Bea Delightful. Outside of the 15-mile radius, we can deliver and set up for a fee to be determined after location is given. It is your responsibility to ensure that the event location is open and available for set up at the appointed time. Should we have to wait at the site for the event location to be opened, you will be billed for the time at an hourly rate of $15 per hour.  Bea Delightful is not responsible for anything that may happen to the cake after we have delivered and set it up at the event location. If the customer elects to pick up and set up the cake, he or she assumes all liability for the integrity of the cake once it passes into his/her possession.

ACTS OF GOD:

Bea Delightful’s obligation to perform will be modified to the extent necessary based on transportation problems, delays in product delivery, inclement weather, acts of God, illness, or other causes beyond Bea Delightful’s control that make it impossible or impractical for us to perform. Should you choose to have your cake setup outdoors, we are not responsible for what happens to it, be it other people, weather, insects, or animals.

SOLE SOURCE REQUIREMENT

To protect our reputation and as a matter of liability insurance requirements, Bea Delightful will be the only provider of any/all cakes, edible or display, other pastries and/or confections. Products from other vendors are NOT permitted to be served at an event where Bea Delightful products are being served. Violation of this policy means the forfeiture of any all monies paid at no compensation to the purchaser and any future legal rights to sue Bea Delightful owners.

 LIABILITY

The Client assumes full responsibility for the guests and agrees to indemnify and hold Bea Delightful harmless from and against all bodily injury, property damage or consequential damages which may result from Bea Delightful’s services and provision of our products.

Bea Delightful is not responsible for any damage to any products, or shortage of products, caused by a guest, caterer, wait staff member or anyone outside of Bea Delightful.

Bea Delightful is not responsible for the client not having products supplied by Bea Delightful if the client fails to complete all payments and deposits required before the event by the specified deadlines. If payment is not made in full by at least fourteen (14) days before the event date, NO products will be made, and the order will be canceled with forfeiture of all monies paid to date.

USE OF PHOTOGRAPHS:

Bea Delightful may take photographs of its products, ask you to send some to us or may order copies of pictures from your photographer. We reserve the right to use any photographs for our reference or display and/or promotion without your consent or compensation to you.

CAKE/PRODUCT PICK-UPS AND RELEASE WAIVER:

Bea Delightful is not responsible for any cakes or desserts, once it leaves our location or drop off point. We will not replace or refund damaged items.

  • If you plan to pick up, here are a few essential tips:
  •     Bring an enclosed, air-conditioned vehicle with a flat/level surface to set the cake on. (Seats and laps are not level!) A minivan, SUV, station wagon or hatchback is best.
  •   CLEAR vehicle space of loose objects that could fall onto or roll into the cake.
  •    Keep cake AS COLD as possible during transport, and AWAY from sunlight.
  •    Drive carefully. Turns, stops and starts should be performed in an EXAGGERATEDLY SLOW manner. Avoid bumps, jiggling, hills, and use a very slow speed on curves.
  •  If it helps, visualize that you are driving with an open bucket of grape juice, and you must not slosh it whatsoever! Other drivers will give you the honk at your slow driving… that is okay; they can go around you!

**Any products not delivered by Bea Delightful before your event will require immediate refrigeration unless specifically directed otherwise by Bea Delightful. Long periods at room temperature, especially outdoors hot weather may weaken the structure of the cake and risks damaging the quality and overall stability. Extended periods of non-refrigeration also increase the risk of foodborne illness and are not recommended.
